I’m needing a simple iPhone based setup to do some talking head style videos in locations that may not be ideal. I’ve been using a DJI mic (excellent) and a cheap tripod. But I need to up it another level. Maybe a quality light (not ring)? Better tripod? I’ll take any tips or suggestions.

Mythos Theme v1.3.3 now includes built-in support for ShareOpenly via a button on single posts. Additionally, there are fixes related to users with JS disabled and a quirky misalignment issue in the header.

New Mythos Theme v1.3.0 adds social media icon integration with 15 platforms supported, redesigned mobile navigation with full-screen menu, fediverse creator meta tags for enhanced link previews, and more.

What I'm Doing Now

I’ve always liked the idea of having a Now page on my site, and have even toyed with it a few times. I decided to make my own version using a dedicated category that will preserve posts from before now as well. When I do update my Now, I won’t lose the old ones. Perhaps it’s not exactly how it was intended, but it’s what I’m going to use.

Just pushed out Mythos Theme v1.2.3! Added copy buttons for code blocks, fixed some bugs with mobile nav, plus new content styles: p.lead for intro text, blockquote.verse for Bible verses, and img.vintage for that subtle scrapbook look.

Just pushed Mythos Theme v1.2.1! Fixed an internationalization issue where dates remained in English regardless of language settings. Also added optional FontAwesome icon support, custom HTML injection fields, and fixed a display issue with the Archive by Months plugin. More coming soon as well.

What I'm Carrying

For years, I’ve been an EDC (Everyday Carry) enthusiast. I’ve gone down every rabbit hole you can imagine from Bugouts to Sebenzas to Shamwaris to Zebralights to Hank’s Lights…the list could go on. As I’ve aged (matured?) I’ve settled into a kit that works well for my lifestyle.

One of my favorite things on our recent trip was watching the Blue Angels from a Target parking lot.

Field Notes Mystery Box. I’m a huge believer in these notebooks.

A collection of Field Notes notebooks, a chart with colored tabs, a "Blaze Your Trail" patch, and a keychain are arranged on a marble surface.

Every time we visit the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, I’m reminded how incredible it is. Truly a gem.

Introducing Mythos Theme

After years (wow, that happened fast) of crafting themes for Micro.blog, I’m excited to introduce Mythos Theme — my latest project that represents the direction of my theme development work. Before diving into what makes Mythos special, I want to share some important updates about my existing themes and where they stand moving forward.
